Delete your account

1. In the app, in under a minute

Open HSTLE, go to You, then Profile, then Delete account. Confirm once. Your account is closed straight away and you are signed out on every device.

Deletion is refused only while money is still moving on a task you are part of: a task you posted that is paid and not yet finished, or work you are doing that is not yet paid out. Finish or cancel it first, then delete. This protects the other person's money.

2. Without the app

If you no longer have the app, email hello@hstle.in from any address with the subject Delete my HSTLE account and the phone number you signed up with. We will send a one-time code to that phone to confirm it is you, then delete the account within 7 days and confirm by email.

3. What is deleted

• Your profile: name, photo, bio, skills, saved addresses, language and notification settings.
• Your sign-in: phone number, email, push tokens and sessions.
• Your location history and your coarse last-known position.
• Identity verification data: the hashed document identifiers and the verification result. The scan and selfie themselves are held by our KYC provider for the period the law requires, then destroyed.
• Your messages in your own chats. In chats with other people your messages stay, shown as from "a deleted account", so the other person keeps their record of what was agreed.

4. What is kept, and why

• Payment, refund and payout records for tasks you were part of, for 8 years, because tax and payment regulations require it. They are kept against an anonymised account id, not your name or phone.
• Records of a dispute, strike or suspension, for 1 year, so a closed account cannot be used to escape them.
• Support conversations, for 1 year, in case you come back to a question about money.
